The ST200's are small enough and powerful enough digital equipment
to tempt thieves to take them from libraries. There are many ways
to physically secure such equipment. For the ST200, we cannot guarantee
results, but we can recommend you consider the TARGUS VIDEO PORT
SECURITY LOCK, a security cable designed to attach to a video port
of the presenter. There is an auxiliary video port on our presenter
that is not normally used, so it does not require any changes to
our installation procedure or instructions.
At less than $30 retail, it is very reasonable in price. It is
offered by a top brand manufacturer of security products, and it
is very neat and professional in appearance. It looks custom made
for our requirement, like an expensive, integrated security solution.
It looks like it might also be tied in with an electronic alarm
as well as hardware protection, like stores place on demo digital
camera equipment, even though it is really only an inexpensive hardware
solution.
