S-T Imaging, distributor of customized microfilm equipment, was
founded in 1989 in Chicago, Illinois by Gideon Elkeles. Previous
to 1989, Mr. Elkeles was a well recognized expert in the field of
micrographics and then owner of a highly successful Minolta dealership.
Mr. Elkeles' dealership distributed microfilm readers and reader
printers along with additional microfilm supplies and systems.
In the late 1980's, Mr. Elkeles used his experience in the reader
printer market, specifically in the library market, to develop a
number of customized products. He sold the Minolta dealership and
founded S-T Imaging. He developed a universal combination-roll film
and fiche film-carrier attachment to all of the standard reader
printers (Minolta, Canon, and Bell & Howell). In addition to this
range of special carriers, Mr. Elkeles developed a library roll
film reader, utilizing this specialized combination concept. The
Gideon Library Research Reader has become a standard in the library
and reference field.
In the early 1990's, Mr. Elkeles' daughter became president of
S-T Imaging and in 1999 S-T Imaging was sold to Digital Check Corporation.
With Digital Check Corporation's (DCC) worldwide experience (previously
known as Microseal) in the microfilm marketplace, the addition of
S-T Imaging continued to provide DCC with expanded microfilm products
and channels of distribution.
In March 2000, the manufacturing assets of S-T Imaging were transferred
to Image Capture Technologies (a DCC wholly owned subsidiary). The
sales and administration office is located in Northfield, IL. Wayne
Rogozinski is the S-T Imaging Sales Manager and Trudy Cray is the
